1. Deportation
Deportation is the removal from a country of an alien whose presence is illegal or detrimental to the public welfare. In the United States a person can be deported for different reasons. Illegal immigrants and permanent residents who are guilty of a crime could face deportation if decided by an immigration judge. People who have received a deportation order may appeal the decision and hire a qualified immigration lawyer to represent them in court.

2. "Green Card"
An official document issued by the U.S. government to aliens, allowing them to work legally in the United States.

3. Citizenship
The status of a citizen with its attendant duties, rights, and privileges. In the United States, citizenship is given to those who are born within its territory or to those who become citizens through naturalization. A person who has been a permanent resident of the Unites States for at least 5 years might be able to apply. Consult an immigration attorney for more information.

4. Visas
An official authorization appended to a passport, permitting entry into and travel within a particular country or region. There are different types of visas and they could be classified by their purpose and duration. In most cases, visas have restrictions as far what the individual can do and for how long. Visas are usually renewable or extendable.
5. Refugee
An individual who has left his or her native country and is unwilling or unable to return to it because of persecution or fear of persecution (as because of race, religion, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion).

A law enacted by the legislative branch of a government
7. Law
A set of rules or principles dealing with a specific area of a legal system: immigration law; criminal law.
8. Act
A product, such as a statute, decree, or enactment, resulting from a decision by a legislative or judicial body: an act of Congress.
9. Immigrant
A person who leaves one country to settle permanently in another.
10. Lawyer / Attorney
A professional person authorized to practice law; conducts lawsuits or gives legal advice.
